On the Water Before It's on the Market: HIGHER R&D Puts Its New-Generation Inflatable Floating Docks Through Lake Testing

Aug 22, 2026

Published by HIGHER SPORT | R&D & Manufacturing

August 20, 2026 — HIGHER, a professional inflatable water recreation OEM/ODM manufacturer with 13 years of manufacturing expertise, today shared images and footage from a full-day lake testing session in which its in-house R&D team validated a new generation of inflatable floating docks and water platforms. The session marked the first open-water deployment of the company's latest prototype lineup — docks built around integrated mesh wading coves, circular lounge configurations, and high-tension water trampoline rings — before the products move into commercial production.

A Prototype Lineup Built for Real Conditions

The test fleet reflects HIGHER's shift from single-product thinking to complete water recreation systems. A U-shaped cove dock pairs a full-surface non-slip deck with a recessed mesh pool, letting guests sit waist-deep in the water while staying inside the dock's perimeter. A circular lounge dock adds curved inflatable backrest bolsters for extended sessions at anchor. Donut-style rings tension a black mesh center into a stable mat for lounging and low-impact jumping, while pentagonal and hexagonal configurations offer operators modular layout options for marinas and rental fleets.

Every prototype carries the HIGHER signature: multi-layer drop-stitch PVC construction, textured non-slip EVA decks, marine-grade stainless steel D-rings for anchoring and tethering, and reinforced webbing carry handles. The session also confirmed the brand's promise of visible quality — the HIGHER logo is printed on every deck, so fleet owners and retail customers can identify the build standard at a glance.

What the Engineers Were Testing

The R&D team anchored the prototypes offshore and cycled through a structured test sequence: stability under load and continuous wave action, submersion and water flow-through behavior of the mesh coves, drainage performance in the wading pools, anchor point strain on the D-rings, and repeated boarding and inflation cycles. Engineers in the field logged measurements on each configuration, evaluating how every shape behaved in open water rather than only on the factory floor.

The session complements the factory's mandatory 48-hour pressure-retention testing, which every HIGHER product passes before shipping. Where the factory test verifies air-tightness and seam durability, the lake session validates the experience side of the product — how the dock rides, drains, and holds up when guests climb aboard in real conditions of heat, wind, and current.

Why This Matters for Buyers

For wholesalers, distributors, brand agents, and yacht charter and water amusement operators, the value of on-water prototyping is direct: concepts are validated in the field before they reach production, which lowers field failure risk and keeps warranty claims and return rates down for distribution partners. HIGHER's vertically integrated facility produces its own D-rings and webbing handles, and its 12-person R&D team supports OEM/ODM customization — custom colors, Silk Screen Printing or Heat Transfer Printing branding, and configurations built around the same mesh-cove and lounge platform architecture.

Looking Ahead

The new floating dock lineup will be released in stages, with initial production runs aligned to the 2027 season for North American and European markets. HIGHER continues to accept wholesale and OEM/ODM inquiries across its full line of inflatable floating docks, swim platforms, water mats, and packrafts, with DDP and CIF options to North American and European ports.
