How to Secure HIGHER Inflatable Dock Floats

Aug 19, 2026

HIGHER inflatable dock floats are engineered to be secured through a built-in hardware system — marine-grade stainless steel D-rings heat-bonded into double-layer PVC reinforcement patches (never surface-glued), with every attachment point pull-force checked at the assembly station. Securing methods depend on your setup:

1. Mooring to a Fixed Point (Dockside)

Run a mooring line from the platform's D-rings to a boat cleat, dock piling, mooring ball, or shoreline anchor. All HIGHER docks distribute multiple D-rings around the perimeter:

  • Square 10 ft dock: 15 marine-grade stainless steel D-rings (4 topside mounting points + 1 underside anchor ring)
  • Circular 8 ft dock: 5 rings (3 topside 1/4-in threaded mounts, 1 topside anchor, 1 underside anchor)
  • Modular Marina Dock System: recessed marine-grade D-rings at the perimeter for anchoring, connecting, and towing

2. Anchoring in Open Water (Offshore)

Use the dedicated underside anchor D-ring with an anchor weight, sandbag, or anchor kit to hold position offshore — for overnight stays at lake dock setups or anchoring behind a yacht. This keeps the platform stable during normal wave action without drifting.

3. Connecting Multiple Units (Modular Layouts)

To build larger arrangements, pass marine-grade straps through the D-rings to daisy-chain platforms into custom configurations — Y-docks, T-docks, or large square systems. On the modular dock system, platforms are joined with industrial-strength locking straps through the recessed D-rings, enabling interconnected designs that scale from a single boat-side extension to a 2,000+ sq ft floating space.

4. Tying Off Other Craft & Gear

Topside D-rings double as tie-down points for kayaks, paddleboards, tenders, coolers, and accessories. The 1/4-inch threaded topside mounts also accept drink holders, action cameras, and fishing rod holders.

5. Why It Holds (Construction Guarantee)

  • D-rings are welded/heat-bonded into multi-layer PVC-reinforced patches — rated for sudden lateral tension from boat wakes and mooring loads
  • Heat-Activated Adhesive Bonding Process keeps seams air-tight through repeated inflation cycles
  • Drop-stitch core inflated to 10–15 PSI keeps the frame rigid so the anchor points hold their geometry under load
  • Every unit passes mandatory 48-hour pressure-retention testing before shipping

Operator tip (from HIGHER's setup guide): always carry the dock by its reinforced webbing grab handles — never drag it; rinse with fresh water after saltwater use; inflate to the recommended pressure so the D-ring system performs as designed.
